Super Hot Boots!

Hey girls, we made it through another week!:) Whew, I don't know about you, but I am sure ready for this weekend!

Tonight, I've been doing a little surfing around for fall boots and came across this AMAZING pair on ModCloth's website. Now, these may be a bit bold for some of you, but I already know I can find a zillion pairs of black, brown, tan and gray boots that I will love, so I'm in the mood for something different. THESE are so freakin' hot! Sold out in my size, too, but I love 'em and will track them down.

Warning, not for the faint of heart...Behold these gorgeous scarlet-hued boots!

TGIF and my OOTD

Hello there, ladies, how are you doing tonight? Can I even tell you how glad I am that tomorrow is Friday??? What a LOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG week. Anyone have any fun weekend plans to look forward to?

My head is still spinning from all of the beautiful new fall fashion offerings over at Anthropologie. I'm seriously racking my brain, trying to figure out how the hell I'm going to pay for everything that I want to buy, PLUS still eat and pay rent, LOL. Budget, you say???? WHAT BUDGET?????

I'll end this quick post with my OOTD. I picked up this beautiful dress from Nordstrom a couple of months ago, and I just love it. The bright, bold flowers really make a statement against the black background and it's seriously one of the most comfortable dresses ever. It's actually a little loose on me, so I've cinched the waist with a black patent belt to streamline the look a bit more.

Have a great night!

Pretty New Things!

Hey ladies, how are ya? It's a gloomy, rainy morning here in NYC. Not very motivated to be back in the cube farm today, that's for sure! To help brighten up my day, I surfed on over to Anthropologie's website and lo and behold, there are lots of cute new items!!! After my mini-rant in last night's post about the lack of new dresses listed, I was pleasantly surprised to see these new beauties...

Ruffled Plaid Dress by Floreat...Priced at $158, this is my favorite new dress offering of the bunch. Plaid, ruffles and a sweet little flower, what could be better? Can't wait to try this one on. Floreat's really been knocking them out of the ball park lately with their gorgeous dresses!

Another cutie that caught my eye is this little yellow number, the Learning Curve Dress by Eva Franco. Not sure if this one would work for me, but I adore the pretty yellow shade and the figure-hugging silhouette. I really need to try this one on before bringing this home with me! Is the bow on the chest too much?

Next up, Leifsdottir's Paso Doble dress is just adorable! Love the big polka dots and unusual neckline. However, at $328, I will definitely be holding out for a sale on this one!

I also came across Deletta's Loosely Looped Tee, featured in black, gray and purple. I really love the purple version, which appears to be more of a berry shade on my monitor. I love the little details on this shirt, turning an ordinary tee into something quite extraordinary!:) From the ruffles to the little knot near the neckline, this piece is truly stunning and practically an Anthro steal at $58.

Finally, I came across these 2 cute sweaters. I am seriously drooling over both of these, even though they are budget-busting!!!

Best of the Bunch Cardigan - This dark orange color is gorgeous and so perfect for fall! Can't wait to pair this with a turquoise blue blouse.

Sleeping On Snow's Summer's Reminder Cardigan - This piece just takes my breath away. Truly a classic Anthropologie cardigan if I've ever seen one!

Well, ladies, those are my picks. See anything that you love, as well?

Enjoy your day!:)

Tuesday OOTD

Hey girls, hope your week is going well so far. Did any of you scoop up some amazing sale items from Anthropologie today?? I'm definitely sitting this sale out, but I'd love to hear what you bought!

I'm getting kind of antsy, as Anthro has been slow to add new items onto their website...I'm looking for more gorgeous fall dresses, and I'm kind of underwhelmed, if not downright disappointed, with the flimsy few new releases of late (aside from my gorgeous Babergh Dress, of course). Are any of you feeling that way, too?

Since I'm too broke to buy anything this week, I did some "shopping" in my very own closet and revisited a dress that I bought off Ebay back in the spring. It's a Floreat dress and I can't for the life of me remember the name, but I thought I'd snap a few photos, as it's such a gorgeous dress.

In this next shot, you'll notice that I paired a bright blue shrug with this dress for more coverage at work. I loved the interplay of colors between the bold blue and the fiery orange appliques on the dress.

Have a great evening!

Boatload of Anthropologie Reviews

Hi, my lovely readers, how are you doing? I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Been kind of MIA all week, as things were super hectic at work and I was fighting a mild bug for much of the week. Since I'm feeling like myself once again, I couldn't wait to get out and check out what's going on at Anthropologie. Yes, that means new fitting room reviews!!!!

One of the main reasons I headed downtown today was to seek out the Pittore Dress by Moulinette Soeurs. The gorgeous watercolor pattern and lovely fall color palette really caught my eye when I first spotted this dress. A few bloggers have already reviewed this item, so I knew that it was a classic sheath dress that would potentially be disastrous on my pear-shaped frame. I grabbed the size 2 and off to the dressing room I went.

First, the good points...the pattern on this dress is just as lovely in person, and the fit wasn't quite as bad as I feared it would be. It did run tight in the hips and was loose in the bust, but the overall silhouette was still pretty flattering. Still, something about this left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Even if it had fit me perfectly, I would still probably pass on it. It's just one of those dresses that I like, but don't love. I didn't feel that the warm tones flattered my complexion and at $168, it's just way too expensive for something that doesn't wow me.

Next, we have this gorgeous, amazing Phlox & Coral Coat from Plenty by Tracy Reese. Readers, I cannot say enough good things about this coat!!! It's truly a statement piece that can be worn for many years to come. The ivory embroidery (not white as it appears on Anthro's website) is just so beautiful, and I love the sharp contrast against the black canvas and coral velvet trim. I tried on the size 0 and found it to be a perfect fit, despite reviews indicating that this runs much smaller than normal. I will say that if you plan to layer up big time in the fall, it may be best to reach for the next size up, but I plan to stick with the 0. Fantastic quality and super well-made. Truly an investment piece that I feel is well worth the steep pricetag.

Another item that I was dying to try on was the lovely Bellerby Skirt by Elevenses. After seeing this on Maria from Infinite Whimsy, I instantly fell in love with it. The material is a very thick, heavy and lovely dark tweed interspersed with turquoise threads, and the shape is to die for. I felt super sexy in this skirt, even though it was extremely form fitting. I tried on both a 2 and a 4, and while the 2 didn't leave me with an extra inch of room, the 4 was huge in the waist and hips and the skirt lost its shape completely, so I would definitely stick with the smaller size. This one will be coming home with me very soon!

On a lark, I grabbed this cute little sweater coat and threw it on (size XS). Even on the rack, I realized it wasn't really my style. I found it to be pretty baggy on my frame, plus I wasn't really feeling the drab background color. Cute pattern, though, and the collar is adorable. Pass for me, though! (Kirklees Sweater Coat by Guinevere)

In addition to the newer fall items, I also was curious about the Dagmar Dress by Maeve. This dress has such a striking pattern and the color is gorgeous, so it's really a shame that it's such an ill-fitting dress. I went with a size 2, and found it to be completely shapeless. Perhaps I should have tried a zero, as well, but it was already feeling tight in the shoulders and my bustline was stressing the buttons, so I can't imagine the 0 really working either.

This dress is just a silly design to me...the waist is way too high (and I'm not that tall, people!), the sleeve length was odd, and the skirt was way too big. I felt like I was trying on a doll's dress. Such a shame, because I could totally see that pattern and lovely red shade working beautifully on a dress of another design! I really wanted this one to work for me, so I even considered pairing it with a belt, but I suspect it's a lost cause.

I also got a chance to check out the Precious Poppy Cardigan and the Rushcliffe Cardigan, both of which are amazingly gorgeous. Unfortunately, my store had neither of these in an XS, so I couldn't do a proper review for you guys, but I highly recommend both sweaters. I'm planning to pair the Precious Poppy Cardi with my Violet Gloaming Dress, which is a stunning combination.

I'll leave you all with my OOTD. It was super humid and sticky here in the Big Apple, so I threw on this cute little summer dress in an effort to stay as cool as possible.

Hope you ladies enjoyed this latest round of fitting room reviews! See anything that you like? Opinions are always welcome!:)

Have a fabulous Sunday!

Readers, I need your help!

I'm desperately seeking this sweater in the IVORY color, size XS. If any of you happen to be in an Anthro and see one of these (in good condition, minus the snags I'm finding in NYC versions), can you please put it on hold under my name ("Chrissy")???? I believe it's currently in the sale section for $49.99. I will be forever grateful to you guys!

Please let me know if you see this! I'm only interested in the ivory color, as I need it to combine with my Babergh Dress, a lovely idea that I'm copying off the gorgeous Tien of Adiaphane.:)

My email address is chrissieb@att.net. Good lookin' out, ladies!:)

Swinging Sweetheart

Hey girls, how are ya doin' tonight? Today's my birthday! Go me!:) Just dropping in briefly to show you a few quick pics that I took before heading out for some yummy Thai food this evening.

Remember the Swinging Sweetheart Dress from Anthropologie's spring 2010 collection? Well, it's one of my very favorite Anthro dresses EVER, and I decided to break it out once again for the occasion. I paired it with some vintage jewelry and simple black heels, and was really happy with the overall look I achieved.

Have a fantastic night, everyone! It's almost Friday!

Finally Got My Babergh Dress!:)

Hey girls, I am just ecstatic right now, because after 10 days of not so patiently waiting, I FINALLY got my Anthropologie Babergh Dress in the mail! I had it delivered to my work address, so I practically knocked over colleagues as I ran to the ladies room to try this on. I couldn't really gauge how well this fit until I got myself home in front of a full length mirror, though.

For sizing reference, I ordered the 2, which was a bit roomy on top (I'm super narrow up there, though), yet tailored to fit through the hips. I was worried with my curvy booty that I would have to take baby steps just to walk in this, but never fear, folks, there's plenty of room to move about the world very comfortably in this garment.

I am SO in love with this dress! I think the details are just gorgeous! The top is comprised of such a rich, beautiful, silky cream fabric with floral details etched in. The skirt portion, while definitely an unusual fabric, is amazing and different than anything I currently own. I don't even mind the flower attachments along the shoulder. I may be one of the few bloggers who doesn't plan to snip them off.

Overall, I am super happy with my purchase and think that many of you ladies will simply adore this dress. Get to your local store soon, though, as it's selling out REALLY fast, particularly in the small sizes.

Have a wonderful evening!

Gorgeous Fall Coat

Hi everyone, hope your week started off on the right foot. Those beautiful summer weekends fly by way too quickly, don't they?

It's yet another 90+ degree day here in the Big Apple. All of this sticky heat and humidity has me longing for cooler temperatures and lovely fall weather. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to rush ahead too much, but every now and then, I find myself dreaming of a brand new, COOLER season.

I've been scouring the stores and web for early fall fashion finds, and came across this showstopper on ModCloth's website. (I know, I know, how can I be looking at wool coats when we have damn near tropical conditions where I live, but isn't this gorgeous???????)

Sigh, this little beauty literally took my breath away. I actually gasped when I first laid eyes on it. It is such a gorgeous coat! From the soft blush hue to the scalloped hem/sleeves, I just love every detail. Even the buttons look shiny and glam. Pretty pricey at $259.99, perhaps too rich for my blood, but a girl can dream, can't she?

Weekend Fun and My Outfit of the Day

Hey girls, hope your weekend is going well! Just dropping in to say hello and post a few quick pics of yet another Anthropologie dress!:)

Last night, the boyfriend and I went upstate and had a magnificent dinner along the Hudson River at a quaint little inn. The food was out of this world and the scenery was majestic, as we had a wonderful view of the lush greenery, soaring hills, and a spectacular sunset!

I decided to wear the Fiber Optics Dress from Anthro's spring collection, and it was just perfect! I have to tell you, it's one of my favorite pieces EVER from this store. The color is so vibrant and it's the perfect warm weather dress.

First Look - Anthropologie Babergh Dress

Hey ladies, hope your week has gone well. Thank God that tomorrow is Friday! I am so looking forward to a fabulous weekend.:)

Just quickly dropping in to let all of you know that one of the Anthro community bloggers, Small Town Fashionista, has posted a fitting room review of the Babergh Dress.

It's so great to see the dress on a real person, and it looks so beautiful, even though she says it's a bit too fancy for her taste. I still haven't gotten my package yet, but am anxiously awaiting the moment when I can offer my own perspective on this gorgeous little number.

Have a great night!

More Anthro Fitting Room Reviews

Hi guys, happy Monday! Hope your weeks have gotten off on the right foot. I had a sluggish start today, but it's all good. It can only go up from here.:)

Yesterday, in addition to purchasing the Violet Gloaming Dress from Anthropologie, I also spent a little bit of time trying on some other items, so voila! I unveil a new round of fitting room reviews. Most of these items have been reviewed all over the blog world, but I'm always happy to offer yet another perspective.

Let's start off with the Twinkle Twinkle Dress by Girls from Savoy. First, the good points...I loved the color! So fresh for summer. The fit wasn't too bad, either (I took a 0, but probably should have tried a 2, as well), but I just wasn't wowed. Overall, I found it to be a cute dress, but certainly not something I'd pay that kind of money for. I also don't think I can handle the idea of wearing big white stars all over my outfit. Readers, I felt like I was about to embark on a USO Tour or fly into the sky like Tinkerbell, LOL.

Bottom line, cute dress, but PASS for me!

Next up is the Discovered Lace Dress by Fleur Wood. Some of you bloggers have rocked this dress like no other, but WOW, was this just AWFUL on me! I took the size 0 and I felt like a little girl playing dress-up in Mommy's closet...if my mom was Morticia, that is, LOL. The other issue was that the dress had a lot of static cling, so it kept bunching up in really inappropriate places.

Have you ever seen a more shapeless sack in your life???? My instincts had me grabbing it desperately at the waistline in an effort to reclaim my shape.

Last, I tried on Floreat's Manor Gates Dress. The colors and pattern make this a very eye-catching dress, but there was just something "off" about this on me. Didn't wow me in any way, which was shocking, because it has such beautiful details and drop dead gorgeous color combinations. I tried on the size 2, trying to allow some extra room for my behind, but the top was way too big and I looked like a box. I really needed to try the zero, because this dress was roomy all over, but I didn't love it enough to bother hunting it down on the sales floor.

Well, ladies, I hope I've entertained you somewhat, and even though this round of dresses was pretty damn disappointing, I just know that there will be dozens more to catch my eye!:)
