My Latest Wish List

Hello, girls, hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend. Did anyone do anything fun or buy anything fabulous?

I am fortunate enough to have a job that gives us MLK Day off, so I am vegging at home today!:) Gotta love these three-day weekends!!! I'm already counting down until the next one, LOL.

Well, I haven't been overly "wowed" by most of the newer items the stores have been introducing these days. Good for my wallet, I suppose, but boring for a fashion blogger who gleans inspiration from the beautiful pops of color, luxurious, silky fabrics, sleek designs, and intricate details that tend to bombard us at every turn as we march closer toward those sunny, warmer days. I'm hoping that this is just an "off" point in the year, and that things will improve greatly as the stores turn their attention to spring and summer items. I hope so, as I'm starting to feel seriously uninspired.

There are a few items that have caught my eye recently, though. Two are from Anthropologie, one is from The Limited, and the last is a great vintage piece that I came across by accident.

First up is the gorgeous little Femme Trench Jacket from Elevenses. I do not remember seeing this online before, so maybe it just popped up today, but it is GORGEOUS! Featuring a neutral shade and loads of pretty details, this would be the perfect topper to any spring outfit. I adore the cascading ruffles down the front and the adorable little buttons on the pockets and shoulders. Even the back of this beauty has amazing attention to detail.

Next up, I'm loving this brilliant blue Gathering Blossoms Top by Edme & Esyllte. The color is simply gorgeous and this would look so lovely paired with a crisp white skirt or slacks. It's pretty pricey at $118, but I would definitely get this on sale.

This next little gem was first introduced to me by the lovely Kim of Anthroholic. In my opinion, a girl can never possess too many polka dot dresses, and this one is just adorable! It's from The Limited, of all places, which is a store that I've ignored for the better part of a decade.

It appears kind of short in the product shot, but after seeing it reviewed on Kim's blog, it's much more modest in length when not showcased on a 6 foot tall model.;) You could pair this with a sweet little cardigan and tights to winterize the look, or toughen up the girliness with a cropped leather jacket. Any way you wear this, it's super cute!

Printed Dot Strapless Dress
from The Limited

Last up is this ADORABLE little vintage mini-coat that I found randomly online. I just love the gorgeous camel shade, and the fit and details on this are lovely. I WANT!!!

Well, that about wraps things up for now, but I hope everyone enjoyed my latest picks. Enjoy the rest of your day!

  1. Thanks for the shout out Chrissy! I'm 5'7" so the Limited Dress definitely isn't too short!
I saw the Femme Trench at Anthro on Friday. It's really pretty. Reminds me of a shorter version of the Clinton Trench!

  2. I was drooling over the Femme Trench this morning too! How stunning can one get? I only worry it will look rather unflattering over my large chest/ribcage like the Clinton Trench. Crossing my fingers though...also love the Contemporarian Dress shown under it in the catalog shot -- the detailing on the back is just stunning!

  3. Hey Kim, what color was the trench? It appears to be taupe or gray from the product shot, but I haven't seen it in my store yet.

  4. Oh hey! I was totally watching that coat on ebay too! I just deleted it from my watch list yesterday to avoid temptation! Don't worry I won't snipe you (yes, I am that kind of evil ebayer, but I do it myself not by machine if that makes it any better!)!!

So glad to see that the brown check dress I've been waiting to see is going online now (it's in the shot with your gorgeous elevenses coat)...

  5. Oh, I missed seeing that Anjali already named it- the contemporarian shall be mine...that print is exactly what I crave!

  6. i love the polka dot dress ~ i saw kim's review yesterday and it's so cute. the trench is drool-worthy, but since i have three trenches i currently don't have time to wear, adding one more to the mix is just gluttonous. lol. i agree that i haven't seen a lot of pieces i can't live without either, which is good for a girl with a strict budget (that i kind of broke last night). ~ susan

  7. i love the jacket(L)
    really want it!

newbie, everyday new post come check me out .

  8. Hi Chrissy, I love the Jacket. But I'm also wize enough to know that 6 trench coats are enough. Plus one short one. I am absolutely undeniably in total love with the Contemporarian Dress that's hiding under the coat. More so that the Take Action Dress, which a week ago almost had me ordering full price. I added the former to my WL last night.

As for the Gathering Booms. Oh the color is TDF. And the Vintage Camel coat is a definate heart stopping YES.

Seems a few above me already pointed out the Dress.

  9. Yes Chrissy! I'm planning a NYC trip in Mid October. My number one reason is to meet the NYC bloggers. I'll be there for at least a week. As the time draws near I will post. I want to get some ideas on what the best way to plan this. I need to find cheap hotel accomodations. I am told not to rent a car. Although I may take one day to drive up to my home State of Maine. I should be there during a weekend to hopefully we can all get together for lunch or something like that. And maybe hit one of the fabulous Anthro's together.

I am so excited, but October seems like a long time to wait. Someone told me that is the best time of year to be in the City.

  10. That sounds great! Early fall is definitely the best time in NYC, in my opinion. Definitely no need to rent a car, although yeah, maybe just for a day or 2 to drive up to Maine.

October does seem far away, but you know how quickly time flies by.

  11. I really like the polka dot dress!!I wasn't aware of "The Limited". Thanks for sharing!
My wallet is also a bit happy that I haven't been finding "a must have" item lately in stores. I said "a bit" happy because I've been visiting eBay to track down items I've missed.
After getting a few things I will probably take a break from shopping for a little bit before my husband has a heart attack hehe plus I'm so ready for summer, I can't wait for stores to have more summer things. I'm loaded with winter clothes...

    have a great week!

  12. thanks for the lovely comment!
