Anthro size advice needed ASAP!!!

Girls, I need your help in placing an online order tomorrow, and I'm specifically looking to hear from those of you who are similarly (pear) shaped and take a size 0-2 in Anthropologie dresses.

I'm looking to purchase the Violet Gloaming Dress, but haven't been able to find it in my size at the local store. I know that a lot of you have reviewed this dress, so I'm wondering if the size 0 or 2 would be best? (I can't tell if this is a narrow fitting dress through the hips, and being slightly larger in the booty than everywhere else, I occasionally run into some issues!)

Can anyone offer sound advice?

New Anthro Item: Babergh Dress

Hi readers, hope you're having a fab week so far. I nearly squealed with delight when I logged onto Anthropologie's website this morning and saw this amazing little dress that's been getting so much buzz in the blog world...and now it has a name and a price, which isn't too bad considering how amazingly gorgeous it is! I'm buying it this week for sure!!!!

This Shopping Ban is Killing Me!

Hi, dear readers, happy weekend to all of you! It's an absolute scorcher of a day here in the Big Apple...going up to nearly 100 degrees! The boyfriend and I are planning to see "Inception" tonight, which I'm really looking forward to.

I absolutely cannot wait until my pay day on July 30, when I finally lift my shopping ban!!!! This has been soooo hard for me all month! I've actually stayed away from all Anthropologie stores the entire time, which explains my lack of fitting room reviews lately. It's just too tempting for me to walk into that store, see all the pretty little things, and walk away empty-handed.

Here are a few items that I plan to order at the end of the week:

I also want to get the Violet Gloaming Dress and the Vagabond Dress, but those will have to wait until next month or I will be living in a cardboard box. I'm sure Anthro will release a whole slew of pretty new items that I will add to my wish list as the days go by, as well.

Enjoy your weekend, ladies! Let me know if you try on or buy anything good! I always look forward to hearing from my readers!:)

Whew, it's back!

So happy to learn that I'm able to maintain my original blog background, which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! The new one was cute, but it just wasn't "me" and I really love the one that I started out with.

So, here's to many more months (and hopefully, years) of blogging with the current look!:)

Back in Action and a Thank You to All!

Hello, dear readers, I'm back!!! I had a wonderful, lovely, relaxing little vacation in my home state of Michigan! It was so nice to be back around big, open fields, gorgeous lakes, and lush greenery. Living in NYC now, everything can get cramped, crazy, and out-of-control, so it's always a great experience when I'm able to get away for a little bit.

Well, now that I'm back, I'm just catching up on all of the goings-on in the blogosphere! Looks like some of you have been scoring some sweet sale items.:) I'm jealous! Still on my shopping ban until the end of this month. It's TORTURE, I tell ya!;) I did get a great new handbag courtesy of my Mommy, though! I'll post some pics shortly. Michael Kors was having a mega-sale and this gorgeous little purse was screaming my name from the shelf. It's a lovely lavender/gray shade, a neutral color that will work with so many different outfits, with just a hint of color to make it pop. Can you tell that I love it?:)

Well, I'm off to check out Anthro's latest additions. Would you believe that it's been about 4 days since I checked in on that???

Oh, and before I go, I was quite dismayed to return to a message on Blogger indicating that my old blog background would be disappearing. Readers, I adored that design and was so sad to have to select a new one, but I'm really loving this one that I found today! I consider it a fresh new start! I also just realized that I've been blogging for six months now! Thank you all so much for checking in on my little corner of the web.:)

Anthro, you know I love you, but WHY???!!!!!!

Hello, my lovely readers! Hope your week is going well so far. Mine's been a little hectic, so I'm just relaxing and unwinding this evening, hoping to find some great new items as I browse the web for early fall fashion.

Now, girls, you know I love me some Anthropologie. I'd put every dime of my paycheck into that store if I could get away with it, lol. HOWEVER, sometimes, every once in a blue moon, they put out an item that truly makes me scratch my head.

This is one of those items. Now, please don't be offended if you happen to like it. I realize that my taste may differ from yours, and the great thing about a store like Anthro is that they sell such a wide variety of items; truly something for everyone.

That being said, WTF is up with this Cathedral Windows Dress and why is it over $400?????????????????????? I realize it's an Anna Sui design and it has some pretty elements (I guess), but the style looks atrocious!!! Readers, I am not understanding this one at all! I cannot imagine this dress being flattering on any body type, from rail thin to curvy.

Anyone agree with me on this one? To my eyes, it looks like a carpet bag or a design experiment gone very, very wrong.

Totally Off-Topic Here...

Hello to all of my lovely readers! I hope you're having a fantastic weekend so far! I'm about to head out into the gorgeous summer sun to run a bunch of errands, but I wanted to drop by and say hello!:)

As I've mentioned in earlier posts, I'm really trying hard to budget myself better. I've been spending crazy amounts of money on all those pretty little summer dresses that are tempting me left and right, but I'm putting myself on lock down and looking ahead to fall fashion.:) I've gone about 2 weeks without buying anything, and I'm really starting to feel antsy. Readers, it SUCKS having to say no to all those goodies out there!

So, what do I do? Well, I pretty much stay out of the stores in general, a nearly impossible feat in NYC, where I face constant temptation on every other block, and I shift my focus over to FOOD! Chocolate always makes me feel better.:)

Speaking of chocolate and pretty things, I thought I'd share these lovely, whimsical images with you. Chocoholics will surely appreciate these!!! There's a company in Michigan (where I used to live) called Sweet Expressions Chocolate that creates these wonderful, custom-made delicacies and they are so amazing! You can check this place out here.

(All of the images below are from their company website.)

Seriously, how cute is this chocolate slipper?

Here are some other heavenly chocolate creations...Don't you just love eye candy???

Well, girls, gotta be running out. Don't you worry, I certainly HAVE NOT given up on shopping and fashion...just taking a little break to build up some green in the bank account.

Looking forward to a great week and hopefully, some lovely new arrivals on Anthropologie's website!!!!

Autumn at Anthropologie

Hey, girls, how are you all doing? Everyone holding up in this summertime heat?? Thankfully, the blazing hot temps have dropped a LITTLE in NYC, so I can actually breathe when walking outside.:/

Wow, Anthropologie continues to churn out the hits for the transition into fall. I see sooo many beauties appearing almost daily on their website, but this is by far my favorite new arrival this week...

Arbor Vines Sweater Jacket by Sparrow

Now, I must admit, the thought of boiled wool makes my skin itch in this heat, but I'm thinking positive and looking ahead to cooler fall days.:) This little sweater is so gorgeous! I think I prefer the grey shade over the ivory (which looks more like oatmeal to my eyes), but both options are beautiful.

Can we talk about the AMAZING details on this garment??? Holy cow, look at the back of this! The shape is perfection, and the appliques add some nice visual interest in the front.

Now, did everyone hear that loud crash??? I think it was my so-called BUDGET going out the window as I add more and more pre-fall items onto my Wish List!!!!

Happy Fourth of July!

Hello out there to all of my lovely readers! Sorry I've been an absentee blogger this week, but life has been crazy-busy.
Just dropping in to wish all of you a very safe and happy holiday! I hope you're enjoying a relaxing day by the water/pool/television, or perhaps cookin' up some delicious barbeque...

On the fashion front, I just wanted to share with everyone a BEAUTIFUL little dress that I am drooling over. It's the Ole Dress by Leifsdottir. Yes, girls, this one is currently a wee bit out of my price range at $328, but I love it! Such a gorgeous shade of green, and the floral pattern is a work of art. Interesting that this is part of their Fall 2010 collection, because I wouldn't exactly categorize this as a fall dress, but it is spectacular and lustworthy and I'm dreaming and scheming up a way to be able to afford this.

Have a great day and I'll be back soon to discuss more amazing fashion finds!
