Ravishing Red Bag

Hey, ladies, hope you're all doing well and having a great summer! I've been taking a nice, long break from the blog world. There's nothing like getting outside to enjoy the beautiful summer weather, is there?

As we move into mid-August, I'm looking ahead towards the fall and all of the wonderful, gorgeous fashion options that are coming our way.  I'm particularly obsessed with finding the perfect shoes and bags to take me through the new season.  I'm on a hunt to find the "perfect" red handbag (for me) and have narrowed it down to these 2 lovely, but very different options.  I'd love your opinions. Which do you prefer?

Retro Red

Hello to all the lovely ladies reading this! How have you been? Hope everyone is enjoying a great summer thus far. I cannot even BELIEVE that we are already into the month of July!!! Where does the time go?  I've been enjoying a lovely season of BBQ, beach time, and some great weekend getaways.

On the shopping front, I've been TRYING to be good. I haven't really splurged too much on new items for the summer.  Right now, I am just trying to enjoy and make the most of what I currently own.  However, this doesn't mean that I don't still lust after the occasional item here and there!:)

For example, I am seriously crushing on this Marc by Marc Jacobs Mimi CDC dress in the Lobster Red shade. It's crazy expensive, but I simply adore it! It has such a great, retro feel to it, plus the color is gorgeous and I love the way it falls and drapes on the model. I'd have to hem this baby a few inches if I decide to buy it, though, as it's 45.5 inches long and would be pretty school marmish on me at the current length (seeing as I'm only 5'5").

What do you think, ladies, isn't it lovely?

Shoe Craze

Photo via Google Images

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well! Whew, this has been a super busy week at work. Why does it seem like we have to "pay" for our holiday Mondays with extra work over the next 4 days???????????????????????? I am so happy that tomorrow is Friday and I can enjoy another lovely weekend.

Thought I'd do a shoe post tonight. Seems like I'm always highlighting silky dresses and skirts, but I do put a lot of thought into my shoes, bags, and accessories, as well. I've been browsing online and came across the Lorissa pump by Sam Edelman and I am drooling over it! Studded peep toe pumps? Sign me up! This shoe is edgy, yet sophisticated and it looks drop dead gorgeous on some of the bloggers that I've seen it on. Only thing is, my boyfriend told me that it's way too crazy and he doesn't like it.

Now, I buy and wear whatever I like, and I don't always agree with him about my fashion choices, but this shoe IS kind of out there, a definite departure from most heels I own. It's a crazy fashionista shoe, but is it too crazy to wear? I'm on the fence about purchasing.

What do you ladies think?

Feel free to chime in with your much-needed opinions.  Have a wonderful night!

Summer in the City

Hey ladies, hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday weekend! We have been experiencing the most amazing summertime weather here in the Big Apple. It's times like these that I feel ESPECIALLY lucky to call NYC my home. Whether I'm strolling through a park, enjoying a delicious meal, or shopping 'til I drop, there is always something to do in this wonderful city.

Since I was fortunate enough to have today off, I made sure to get outside and soak up every ounce of sun that I could.  Thought I'd share a few pics, especially since I'm wearing this incredible new dress that I picked up recently at a local boutique called Coup de Coeur.  This cute little store features tons of trendy dresses, tops, skirts, pants and accessories at amazingly affordable prices.  They have a few locations around the city, but the one I frequent the most is in Hell's Kitchen off 9th Avenue @ 43rd Street.  Highly recommend this store to anyone living in or visiting NYC!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Hi, guys! Wow, it's been awhile since I last posted. Been SO BUSY lately, so I've turned into a VERY lazy blogger. Hopefully, I can get back into the swing of things and resume more regular posting, because I truly do miss this place!:)

Since my fave store, Anthropologie, has been pretty much a colossal disappointment on the spring/summer 2011 fashion front, I've been turning my eye to other retail establishments in search of perfect pieces to carry me through the summer. I'm loving the maxi skirt/dress trend that is currently all the rage, and LOVE this amazingly beautiful, brilliant cobalt blue skirt from Intermix. Holy crap, though, is this really $400????

Rag & Bone Silk Chiffon Maxi Skirt

Also loving this bright orange Jay Godfrey number:

Kind of has a bit of a 70's vibe going on, which I'm digging at the moment.;) All of the pieces that I'm attracted to this season feature bright, bold colors & airy, flowy and super light fabrics to carry me through the sticky East Coast summer.

I'm off to enjoy this lovely long Memorial Day weekend with my boyfriend. We're enjoying the most perfect weather here in the Big Apple. I'll leave you with a few quick pics of my day on Governors Island, where I kicked off the summer with a bike ride around the island and picnic on the grass, followed by a lovely stroll down some shady, tree-lined lanes. If you live in NYC and haven't experienced Governors Island, I highly recommend that spend a day enjoying all that it has to offer.

Check out how crystal clear and blue the sky is in the pic above! Wow, we don't get too many days like this in the city. The pic was taken at the Water Taxi Beach on Governors Island.

Here's a pic of me wearing a bunch of new makeup from a recent Sephora splurge. I thought I'd try a more natural look, since several people have pointed out that I often wear a LOT of makeup, LOL. Do you like?

Have a wonderful weekend, ladies!

Anthropologie Dress for sale! Rare Organdy Tea dress - 2 Petite - $130 or BEST OFFER

Hey guys, I'm back with another fabulous Anthro item for sale! It's the amazingly beautiful Organdy Tea Dress by Elevenses. How can I part with this gorgeous beauty, you ask? Well, I bought it off Ebay (in great condition), but because it's a 2 petite as opposed to my regular size 2, it's way too narrow in the chest area. This is perfect for all of you tiny girls out there! Me, I could barely zip this up and breathe. (For reference, I'm about a 32C or 33B with a 26" waist.)

Anyway, I paid close to $200 for it and recently scored my correct size for $175. If anyone is interested, I'm trying to recoup most of my money and am listing this for $130 or
best offer. I accept Paypal only. Please email me at chrissieb@att.net if you're interested!

Thanks, girls, and have a wonderful night! Almost made it to Friday now!

Hi guys, just dropping in with an item for sale! Actually, one of my lovely blog readers is the proud owner of this beauty, but it's just a bit too small for her, so she asked if I could help her find a good home for it!

If you're interested in this lovely coat, please send me your contact information (chrissieb@att.net) and I'll forward it along to her. She would be happy to provide you with additional pictures and information.

BLOG SALE! Rare Anthropologie Dress: Size 4

Hi guys, hope you're all enjoying a wonderful weekend so far! I'm about to head out shopping, but wanted to drop by to say hello and post this little dress that I'm selling. It's the Wye Valley Dress from Anthropologie (sold in 2008, I think). I purchased it on Ebay in size 2, but it turned out to be a size 4 and it is way too big on me. I never got around to altering it, so I must not want to wear it THAT much, right??? Right!

So, I'm selling it for $75 shipped. If any of you are interested, please let me know. You can post here or email me directly at chrissieb@att.net.

UPDATE: THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Love This Purse!

Hi guys, how was your weekend? I am so thrilled that we finally turned the clocks ahead! Yes, we may have lost a few precious moments of sleep this morning, but won't it all have been worth it to see daylight at the end of the work day???

I did a bit of window shopping over at Anthropologie yesterday, but there really wasn't anything that I felt I "had" to have. So weird, as I can usually think of 5 or more items that I would love to bring home with me! I'm just not feeling their clothing lately, which is kind of sad, but on the other hand, hell, I live in NYC, there are SO many great clothing stores that I can check out, as well.

I've also been on a bit of a handbag kick lately. My latest quest is to find the perfect red bag. My browsing led me to this gorgeous, to-die-for Valentino bag on Nordstrom's website. Sighhhhhhhhhh, the price tag is way too rich for my blood, but isn't it amazing? It's all about those details...the beautiful, shiny, almost liquid patent leather, the huge honkin' bow, and that blazing shade of red so bright, you need shades to look at it!

The Look For (Slightly) Less!

Hey girls, I know that a lot of you have been admiring the Wispy Cirrus Blouse sold at Anthropologie.

Me, I can't quite stomach paying $120 for a blouse that I can't wear with too many things, so I decided to pass on buying it. However, for those of you willing to splurge, I found it on ModCloth.com for slightly less (with a different name), so if you're interested, you may want to head over to the site and check it out before it's gone! They're selling it for $92.99, so I may seriously consider it myself! Such a pretty, feminine little thing, isn't it?

Pretty New Dresses

Just dropping by to say hello. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm very fortunate in that mine will be continuing into tomorrow, as my office will be closed in honor of President's Day. I just LOVE long weekends and wish they weren't so few and far between.

Anyhow, it's been a relaxing couple of days, and I've managed to do some serious scoping of springtime fashion on the web. I've found so many items that are now on my wish list!!!!

One designer that I really adore is Tracy Reese. She has such unique items in a wonderful variety of colors. The attention to detail is impeccable, as well. Even her Plenty line is pretty darn cute. I am seriously crushing on this blue striped dress I just came across on her website.

Pretty reminiscent of last year's Speckled Ink dress sold at Anthropologie, but a bit more vibrant and cute, in my opinion. The length is just slightly longer, too, which was the main reason that I passed on the Anthro version last year.

Speckled Ink Dress from 2010

Another pretty dress that I'm lusting after comes to us courtesy of Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique and can be ordered from Nordstrom's website. This dress is so delicate and feminine with so many amazing details! I just love the lace bodice, rosettes and beading. The color is listed as "coconut," so I'm not sure if this is a true white or more of a cream colored garment, but it's breathtaking either way.

Enjoy the rest of your evening and let me know what you ladies think of these dresses!:)

Pretty in Pink

Hello, ladies, I hope you're all off to a great start to the weekend. I know I am, because I just added a gorgeous new item to my spring wardrobe.

When browsing online earlier, I was checking out all of the feminine, girly new items coming out for spring, and my eyes spied this to DIE for, amazingly beautiful little number from a website called Sense of Fashion. How could I possibly pass up a pink ruffled coat?

This beauty reminds me of cotton candy goodness and I can't wait to pair it with my whites, camels and grays for a super feminine springtime look. (Yes, as you may have noticed, my shopping ban has been broken, LOL. Thank God for tax refunds!!:))

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

New Anthropologie purchase

Good afternoon, lovely ladies, hope your week flew by! It's finally Friday, thank God! Even better, I am off of work today AND will get to enjoy a holiday on Monday (President's Day in the U.S.), so I am ecstatic! Anyone have any fabulous weekend plans that they'd care to share?

To top things off, it is currently *65* degrees here in NYC. We're getting a brief sneak peek of springtime, so I'm heading out shortly to squeeze as much warmth and sunlight into my winter-weary bones as possible.

Before I run out, I thought I'd share a beautiful new purchase with all of you. As you know, Anthropologie is just about my favorite store on the planet, but lately, their offerings have been disappointing me. When I'm feeling uninspired, I always turn to Ebay to scope out some new possibilities, and I came across an auction for this gorgeous Anthro ivory sweater dress by Viola. I don't recall seeing this in stores or in a catalog, so I have no clue as to what year this item came out, but it was love at first sight. The auction sure wasn't cheap, but it ended in my favor and I can't wait to get this!

Well, I can hardly stand sitting inside this little apartment, so I'm off to enjoy this amazing, albeit short-lived spring weather we're experiencing! Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Vintage Chanel

Hello, lovelies, I hope you're all enjoying the weekend thus far! Thought I'd share a few more pics of my lovely "new" handbag, this beautiful vintage Chanel 2.55 Classic Double Flap Bag that I purchased recently.

Last night, my boyfriend and I shared an amazing early V-Day dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant, so it was the perfect occasion to introduce this gorgeous little number to the world.:) I'm also wearing my new purple dress from Nordstrom, which I scored for 40% off last week!

Since we're having some decent, mild weather here in NYC, I'm about to head dowtown to see what the stores have to offer in the way of early spring fashion. I may even poke my head in at Anthropologie to check out which new dresses have finally appeared on the floor.

Enjoy the rest of your day and let me know if you bought anything good recently!

Sneak Peek!

EEK, I'm super excited, so I had to share my latest purchase with all of you. If you've read my blog for awhile now, you know that I've been coveting this vintage beauty for quite some time, and she's finally mine!

More pics to follow soon! Have a fabulous evening!

Finally, Anthropologie!

Hi girls, how have you been????? Wow, it's been a minute since my last post...a long minute, LOL!!! Guess I just needed to take a little break from the blog world. Don't get me wrong, I still lurk around and read and post frequently on others blogs, but as for my own, well, I guess the serious lack of cute winter clothing has left me feeling rather uninspired. Now that we're turning the corner into spring (in a little over a month), I'm FINALLY stumbling upon some lovely, feminine frocks that have sparked my interest.

I've been pretty vocal about my disappointment in Anthropologie items lately. The dresses this winter haven't been that great, and in some instances, they've been downright ugly, IMHO. Pretty disappointing, considering that this is usually my very favorite store to shop at. I've been religiously visiting their website each day, though, always hoping to find something new and beautiful, and today, I finally got my wish.

Behold, the lovely addition of the Glanz Dress by Beth Bowley ($158). The colors are so fresh and pretty, and the shape of the garment is sure to flatter all sorts of different body types. Can't wait to try this one on at the store. I hope the colors are as vibrant in person as they appear on my monitor!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

My Latest Wish List

Hello, girls, hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend. Did anyone do anything fun or buy anything fabulous?

I am fortunate enough to have a job that gives us MLK Day off, so I am vegging at home today!:) Gotta love these three-day weekends!!! I'm already counting down until the next one, LOL.

Well, I haven't been overly "wowed" by most of the newer items the stores have been introducing these days. Good for my wallet, I suppose, but boring for a fashion blogger who gleans inspiration from the beautiful pops of color, luxurious, silky fabrics, sleek designs, and intricate details that tend to bombard us at every turn as we march closer toward those sunny, warmer days. I'm hoping that this is just an "off" point in the year, and that things will improve greatly as the stores turn their attention to spring and summer items. I hope so, as I'm starting to feel seriously uninspired.

There are a few items that have caught my eye recently, though. Two are from Anthropologie, one is from The Limited, and the last is a great vintage piece that I came across by accident.

First up is the gorgeous little Femme Trench Jacket from Elevenses. I do not remember seeing this online before, so maybe it just popped up today, but it is GORGEOUS! Featuring a neutral shade and loads of pretty details, this would be the perfect topper to any spring outfit. I adore the cascading ruffles down the front and the adorable little buttons on the pockets and shoulders. Even the back of this beauty has amazing attention to detail.

Next up, I'm loving this brilliant blue Gathering Blossoms Top by Edme & Esyllte. The color is simply gorgeous and this would look so lovely paired with a crisp white skirt or slacks. It's pretty pricey at $118, but I would definitely get this on sale.

This next little gem was first introduced to me by the lovely Kim of Anthroholic. In my opinion, a girl can never possess too many polka dot dresses, and this one is just adorable! It's from The Limited, of all places, which is a store that I've ignored for the better part of a decade.

It appears kind of short in the product shot, but after seeing it reviewed on Kim's blog, it's much more modest in length when not showcased on a 6 foot tall model.;) You could pair this with a sweet little cardigan and tights to winterize the look, or toughen up the girliness with a cropped leather jacket. Any way you wear this, it's super cute!

Printed Dot Strapless Dress
from The Limited

Last up is this ADORABLE little vintage mini-coat that I found randomly online. I just love the gorgeous camel shade, and the fit and details on this are lovely. I WANT!!!

Well, that about wraps things up for now, but I hope everyone enjoyed my latest picks. Enjoy the rest of your day!

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaack!

Good morning, girls, and a belated Happy New Year to everyone! Pretty bad that this is my first post of 2011, but I really struggled getting back into the swing of things after the holiday whirlwind. That, and the freezing cold weather here in NYC does not make this girl feel especially motivated!:)

Well, now that we've entered January and are one month closer to spring, I finally feel that I can realistically start looking at some of these new little dresses that are popping up all over the place. I especially love this blue and green dress from Anthropologie, and can't wait to make it mine one day very soon! Sure, I won't be wearing it for about 5 months, but I can look ahead to the warmer weather and dream.

I already know that this is going to fit me well, because it's basically a copy of last summer's "Twinkle Twinkle" dress that I tried on months back. I passed on that version because the print was a little too whimsical for my taste, but this new version is perfect. Green polka dots on a beautiful blue background? Sign me up!

Take Action Dress by Girls from Savoy - $168

Here is the Twinkle Twinkle Dress from last year. I just couldn't deal with the stars.

I also did some post-Christmas shopping over at Bloomingdale's and scored an amazing deal on a Mackage coat! After trying on several styles at the Soho store, I fell in love with the Brenda coat in the off white shade, but they were completely sold out in most sizes across the country. I was so sad, but lo and behold, Bloomingdale's had ONE left and it was my size...for about $150 less. I can't find a decent shot of the light color version online, so I've attached the black one so everyone can see what this looks like. It's gorgeous and the quality is amazing! I just love the collar, too.

Mackage Brenda Coat - This is the black version, but I bought it in off white.

I also bought a beautiful Cynthia Steffe sweater dress at 40% off. It is such a sexy little dress, and I promise to post pics as soon as I wear it!

Hope you're all enjoying 2011 thus far, and I'll be back shortly to show off my latest purchases. Have a terrific weekend!
