LEIFSDOTTIR COAT APB

Hello ladies, how have you been? My goodness, it's CRAZY that over a week has gone by since my last post! I truly apologize, but life has been very, very busy and the days seem to slip away from me on occasion. Well, I'm back and ready to blog, so here we go.

While browsing my favorite blogs last night, I was "reminded" of yet another Anthro item that I could kick myself for not purchasing a couple of years ago. This amazing coat is by Leifsdottir and every time I see it on a blogger, it takes my breath away. The soft blue color is drop dead gorgeous and the coat has such a sweet, vintage vibe with the golden latch closures and the textured, honeycomb fabric.

Leifsdottir Floe & Current Coat

Please, ladies, if any of you have this in size 2 and would like to sell it, can you PLEASE email me immediately? I've seen it on Ebay occasionally, but I always lose out for one reason or another.

On another note, tomorrow is Veterans Day and being that I work for a large financial institution, I get the day off. What's a girl to do with this unexpected free time? Well, I plan to head on down to my nearest Anthropologie store and try out their free personal shopping service! I've been doing really great with my budget this month, but there are at least 4 or 5 items that are seriously tempting me in a big way, so I figured I'd have the stylist pull these items (and a few extras) and help me decide which piece(s) are truly worth the money. While I normally shop alone, it's always great to have that extra eye in the dressing room, right? So, I'll let you ladies know how it all goes. I'm hoping to come home with a pretty new item to model for all of my lovely readers!:)

Have a wonderful afternoon and check back soon to see what I bought!

  1. honestly, I purchased this coat off ebay and wound up reselling it b/c it wasn't as great in person as in the pictures. It's cute, but I don't think it holds a candle to the level of quality of Tracy Reese coats (my fave is the Elimovna). Hope you find one, but if you don't, there are plenty of other (and in my opinion, better) options.

    1. I have the Elimovna (in salmon) and Stitched Spindles coats. I can't stress enough how great the quality of Tracy Reese coats are. It still haunts me that I lost out on a couple ebay auctions for Reese dresses. Wow, I just now saw the Princess Coat, it's a beauty.

  3. yeah, it was a bit of a disappointment. Maybe it was b/c I had built it up so much in my head. I mean, it's a nice coat, it's just not fabulous. It's a pretty color (but more of a baby blue than the aqua that is depicted in the catalog photo), but other than the pretty color, it was nothing amazing. Nothing could get me to part with my Elimovna coat b/c the detailing is just so precious and intricate, but I just didn't feel the same way about the floe & current coat. I also have the leifsdottir diamondplate coat and love it, so I'm not biased against leifsdottir b/c I do think they make great pieces. I dunno, if I were you, I'd stalk the tracy reese or anthro site until that maroon one you love so much hits the sale rack. Now, THAT'S a beautiful coat!

    1. I realize now "princess" is referring to the styleline. I meant this coat http://www.pinterest.com/pin/1688918582492716/

  7. Hi Chrissy,

Did you get the Flo and Current on eBay? I hope so. It's a beautiful coat. But I find the color to be a bit difficult to outfit. I wear mine with Leifsdottir's Avonlea Dress . I agree with Kelly in that I too have the Diamondplate coat and wear it a lot more than the Flo and current. But both coats have oodles of fab details. Like the lapel glove pocket. The copper signature inside buttons and velvet lined pockets.. Far more details than T Reese coats. But also pricier.

  8. Laura, I'm going to bid on it. There wasn't a Buy It Now option, unfortunately. I do love the color, although I realize that it does have its limitations as far as pairing it with outfits.

I don't think the coat has nearly the detail and embellishment of a T.R. coat, but not every coat has to be dazzled up, ya know?

    1. Hi Chrissy! Did you end up winning the bid? I googled this coat and saw your post.
I scored a size 4 at the trade market and I'm waiting for it to arrive although it's actually a size 4 and I will need to either find a size 2 to trade or take it to a tailor.

I completely agree with you, not every coat has to be all dazzled up full of details!
