Back it Went...

Hey ladies, how are you? Did anyone bring home any goodies from the Anthropologie sale today? I had to sit this one out, but there were some items that seriously tempted my wallet, that's for sure. Sigh, we can't have everything, I suppose.

On another note, I recently purchased a quirky little watch from Anthro after seeing it on the lovely Kim from Anthroholic. I couldn't find it at my local store, so I made the mistake of ordering it online and was dismayed to note that it arrived in pieces. It seriously looked like the mail truck ran over the box or something, and the delicate little flower was chipped in several places.

Modern Master Watch (as shown in one piece, LOL)

Aside from the obvious damage, I wasn't as bowled over with the look of the watch in person, and at approx $70 with shipping & handling, I needed to be impressed. So, back it went and now I have a $70 credit on my card. What to buy, what to buy...

Hope you girls made out well if you hit the sale today. Let me know what you bought, as it may inspire me to make a late night purchase.;)

  1. I feel like ordering jewelry online is always such a crap shoot. Many things that I have ordered have arrived in pieces. You would think I would learn my lesson....That stinks that you didn't care for the watch in person, it looks really cute in the picture!

  2. I've had pretty decent luck with online jewelry, but never again, LOL, esp. because I was so not impressed with this watch in person. If it was about $20, maybe, but not for what they were charging.

  4. Booo that the watch came to you in such poor condition! And that it was less promising than the adorable online catalog shot. Hrmph. I often find that Anthro jewelry is pretty deceptive in online product pictures unfortunately. Hopefully you can put the $70 towards something you really love though!

I hadn't bought anything from Anthro in over a month, so I allowed myself to go home with the Compeer and the Set The Course Cardi -- both of which I had patiently waited for second cuts on, making me feel even less guilty. I hope the things that tempted you today will stick around until you can justify getting them!

  5. Aww, I'm so sorry the watch arrived in pieces! I assure you, it looks much better when it's in one piece, but I'm sorry you didn't love it!

  6. awww, that's too bad. would it make you feel better if you found out that Tracy Reese is having a 25% off sale on everything on the site (code is REAL25). You can always use your $70 towards the crimson coat you love so much. :) (I'm an enabler)

  8. Kim, I'm sure you're right. Had the watch not been in fragments, LOL, I think I would have appreciated it a lot more.

  9. Aw too bad about the watch. I love refunds though - it really is free money! LOL

  10. So sad about the watch! At least you can put the refund toward something you love a bit more though since you weren't sold on it in person. Silver lining! :)

  12. Chrissy,
I am trying to put something together for my blog and couldn't remember whether you were the first follower or Courtnee. I asked Courtnee and she wasn't for sure, so I wanted to check with you, to see if you remember whether you were the first or not. Thanks so much! Kristina

  13. Hi Chrissy,

Sorry about the watch. But $70 for what looks like plastic? It sounds like you wouldn't have been happy with it if it arrived whole. Buy tights with your credit. I am all over Anthro's tights every Fall. A drawer full is still not enough.

What did I get on sale?

The Count the Waves Dress. This is different for me. So cross your fingers it works.

The Compeer Dress by Tracy Reese at 75% off. I want to wear it with the Phlox and Coral Coat by T. Reese. I sized up as suggested. But I don't know how it's going to work. So cross your feet on this one.

The Barometer Top as a Re-order that just by chance went on sale. Yeah!

The Dog Trot Cardi in Brown with the Pink Scotties. I had to return the last Monogram Cardi I bought. It was too itchie. Cross your toes.

The Gift Bow Belt in Neutral.

Not on sale: The Pont Prix Tights with the little horses on them. I couldn't wait another minute. I figure I would save maybe $8 on sale.

Now for some shameless blog begging!

One of my Reader's Challenged me to Style Floreat's Yellow Cloud Dress for Fall. I just posted Style #3 of 4. Would love it if you could offer some suggestions for the Challenge.

Monday I will conclude with Style #4 and have a vote on the best out of the 4 Styles.

Sorry for the long comment, Laura

  14. Exactly, Laura, the watch looked like a plastic toy to me. Very unimpressed with the quality. Wasn't expecting a Rolex, but the product shot was much cuter than what I got, broken or not broken.

I will head over to check out your blog.
