The One That Got Away...

Hi, everyone, I hope you're enjoying a great weekend so far! Any good plans? It's super cold over in my corner of the world, so I'm holed up at home with a steaming cup of hot cocoa. I've spent the morning browsing online, scouring Ebay for sweet deals on Anthropologie items from the past and present.

Do you ever have that ONE item that got away that you can't get out of your head? Believe me, I've regretted not buying LOTS of things over the years, but the one item that haunts me to this day is this gorgeous little eyelet dress from Lil that was sold back in 2008 (I think). I just posted on Ebay's Want It Now feature, as I MUST have this dress in a size 2 or 4. If any of you readers know where I can find this, or if you have one you'd like to sell, please let me know!

An Oldie But Goodie...

Hi, my lovely readers, Happy Friday once again! My favorite part of the week, and it's sure been a crazy one!

I'm getting so overwhelmed with all of the gorgeous new offerings on Anthro's website, so for a little diversion, I headed over to Ebay to check out what it had to offer...I constantly find beautiful, amazing pieces from old Anthro collections. Today did not disappoint, and guess what? I scored this amazing little dress from the 2008 Spring Collection, Maeve's Wye Valley Dress. I just fell in love with the pale yellow sateen fabric and those amazing flowers printed across the bottom of the entire dress, both front and back.

This dress makes me think of warm, sunny spring days, garden parties, green grass, and, well, what can I tell you??? I can't wait to wear this!!! It's gorgeous and I'm so happy that it's mine!:)

Did any of you recently score something awesome off of Ebay? Or have you brought something home from the new Anthro collection? Drop me a line and let me know!!!

Enjoy your Friday night, everyone!

Anthropologie has just KILLED my budget!!!!

Hi readers, hope everyone is doing well on this fine Wednesday evening...we made it through another "hump" day, and only 2 more days until the weekend! Yay!

Now, onto the IMPORTANT stuff...all those amazingly gorgeous new offerings on the Anthropologie site! I swear, every time I tell myself that I won't be buying any more clothes for a long time, they break out the new season's selection and all thoughts of budgets and savings go right out the window!

Now, many other bloggers have already done the honor of showcasing most of the latest stuff, so I'm just going to show you all the pieces that I hope beyond hope will end up in MY closet...

Drum roll, please...

First up, we have this insanely beautiful offering from Tracy Reese, the Pictureshow Dress.

This dress is absolutely to-die-for, in my opinion. The fifties-style cut with the full A-line skirt makes this very flattering for most figure types, and the embroidery is so exquisite. Just look at those flowers!!!!! I die! This dress may be too fancy for most, but I love it and will find a way to make it come home with me, even if it means Ramen noodles for a month! (Only kidding, dear boyfriend!)

For more casual days, I just adore the Sun Grown Tank, especially the light gray version. I'm such a sucker for anything with flowers and rosettes, and the entire front of the tank is adorned with these beauties! My only concern is that the material appears to be a bit sheer online, so I will have to try this on in person before bringing it home.

Next we have the Blooming Brilliance top by Leifsdottir. I sort of shudder when I see that brand name listed, because I know the price tag will be outrageous, and it sure was in this instance...this little baby is nearly $230! GASP! Seems a bit ridiculous for a little top, but the color is the most amazing blue shade, and I love the one shoulder design. Plus, anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a sucker for anything blue! My whole closet would be filled with that shade if I thought I could get away with it!!!:)

This little number is more my speed price-wise. Ringing in at just under $80, the Ode to Spring Tank is soooooooooo adorable! The jersey material looks super comfy, I love the plaid background, and of course, there are the the little flowers that adorn the neckline. I could definitely work this cutie into my wardrobe for spring. I think it would make an adorable layering piece, and it's coming home with me soon!

Finally, I leave you with this super cute jacket from Idra, the Curio Collar Jacket.

I absolutely love, love, love every detail of this amazing little thing...each detail takes the ordinary spring coat and turns it into something extraordinary!!! The neutral beige shade will work well on most skin tones, and I love the ruffles and rhinestones!!!! Definitely not your ordinary, ho-hum, basic spring jacket, and a must-have addition to my wardrobe!

I also think this would be very versatile, and would look super cute paired with jeans, a skirt or a dress. You decide what works for you...there are a million ways to wear this darling little jacket!

That's about all I can handle for now, lovely readers. I hope you enjoyed the new offerings half as much as I did, and feel free to drop me a line to tell me what YOU hope to bring home from the batch!

SENSATIONAL SKIRT!!!

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well. Mondays are always so tough for me...I just want the weekend to continue indefinitely!

That being said, I needed to put myself in a better mood this morning, so I headed over to my favorite site...why, Anthropologie, of course!!! Some new items appeared online today, but this one...WOWZA!!! What a gorgeous little skirt!!!

It's the latest offering from Lil, the Openwork Vines Skirt, a gorgeous, lacy little number that is definitely becoming part of my closet in the very near future!!!

This skirt helps erase my disappointment over another item that I was lusting after...the Vanilla Bean top. I tried it on in the store recently (camera battery died, so no photo to share) and couldn't believe how flimsy and sheer it appeared...it fell off my shoulders, too, so even the fit was off, not to mention the weird elastic around the waist that other reviewers have mentioned.

I'm excited to see what Tuesday's sale has to offer...if any of you score some great deals, feel free to shoot me an email and share the details!!!

Saturday Fashion Finds

Hello, my lovely readers, I hope you're having a great weekend so far. I just love being off of work!!! There's nothing like kicking back with a steaming cup of coffee, just browsing the web for those pretty little pieces to add to my already burgeoning closet!

One store that always carries really lovely, unique items is an online store called Ruche! They carry really fun, affordable, retro-style pieces that you won't find anywhere else. As with all small online stores, the items tend to sell out really quickly, so if you see something that you like, hop on it right away before it's gone forever!!! Check out some of the cute offerings below:

This adorable little cardi would look great paired with the
Free Flow Tank (shown below) from Anthropologie.

These are just a few of the cute things that they have in stock at the moment. Some of these pieces definitely have an Anthropologie vibe, don't you think??

Mad about Mod!!!

Hi everyone, can we say TGIF tomorrow??!!! Whew, it's been such an incredibly busy week, and I can't wait for some downtime to hit up my favorite stores over the weekend! Nothing more satisfying than uncovering the latest and greatest fashion discovery du jour.

As you may have figured out by now, I absolutely adore vintage-style clothing, and while I can always find a fix at my local Anthropologie store, I really hate to limit myself to just one place to shop. I find myself spending hours upon hours scouring the web for amazing fashion finds. One place that always comes through for me is Modcloth.com, an online retailer that specializes in indie, retro and vintage fashion. I've picked up a couple of really beautiful coats and some cute little dresses from this store in the past. The prices are very reasonable, the quality is good (in most instances), and I find that the merchandise runs pretty true-to-size.

They also have an amazing customer service team that is extremely helpful and understanding if there are any issues with your order.

You can check out just a small array of what they have to offer below:

Hurry on over to check out the site, as sizes are very limited in quantity and tend to sell out REALLY quickly.

Accessorize your life!

So, with all the stores displaying amazing spring fashion these days, it's time to put the finishing touches on all those new outfits with some beautiful jewelry. I'm a strong believer that a great piece of jewelry can really help to define even the most mundane ensemble.

I came across an online jewelry site that sells the CUTEST stuff, and wanted to share my find with everyone! It's called Stella & Dot and many of their items have been seen on celebrities. Prices are a bit steep for costume jewelry, but the pieces are absolutely gorgeous, unique, and different. Here are some of their offerings:

Artemus Stone Necklace

Lulu Vintage Glass Necklace

Uma Silk Wrap Necklace - Pink

Kelly Necklace - Ivory Pearl

Adele Cuff - Silver

Della Triple Strand Necklace

Sofia Pearl Bib Necklace

Kelly Cuff - Ivory & Black

Selma Brooch Necklace (Now 50% off)

Hope you enjoy these adorable items as much as I do! The site sells both bold and delicate jewelry, so there's truly something to fit nearly everyone's individual taste and style.

Latest Wish List from Anthropologie

Wow, Anthropologie is just KILLING me (and my future budget) with all of these gorgeous new arrivals!!! So many items to choose from, but so little money!! I swear, walking into that store is like walking into a clothing minefield when it comes to my wallet...Here are a few of my latest "must have" pieces...

I'll start with this gorgeous silk top by Lil, the Gentle Waves Shell. The lovely turquoise and teal shades remind me of the Caribbean, and the ruffle down the front is so cute! I could pair this with so many adorable little skirts in my wardrobe. At $88, I'm adding this to my wish list.

Helloooooooo, Vanilla Bean Blouse by Yoana Baraschi! I know I've posted about you before, but where the hell have you been all of my life????? What's not to love about this gorgeous top? From the polka dots to the ruffled neckline, it makes me so glad to be a girl! The neutral shade will work with almost anything, too, so it's a versatile addition to any wardrobe. Can't wait to try this one on in person. It's a bit steep at $128, but if it fits well, it will have a permanent home in my closet.

Next, how cute is this Balletomane Tank by Burlapp??? I love the grayish-blue shade and the layers upon layers of ruffles adorning the front of the shirt. I am a bit concerned about the fit, as it looks very loose at the waist, but I will definitely be trying this on. At $78, the price isn't bad for such a stylish, adorable little top.

As a layering piece, I really like the Winding Road Tank, particularly the "red" shade (which looks more pink to me, at least online) by Little Yellow Button. Pop this little beauty underneath a white blazer, and you have office chic with a twist. Much cuter than your basic, ordinary tank, and for only $48, it's one of Anthro's most reasonably priced items.

There were some cute little dresses that I saw in the store over the weekend, as well, but they haven't made their grand appearance on the website as of yet. Dying to find out the name of the Moulinette Soeurs blue motif dress that I tried on below.

I'll leave off with that for now. After all, I could post on and on for the rest of the night, as there are probably 20-30 additional items that I am coveting. Hope you enjoy!

Fitting Room Reviews

Hi Readers, how is everyone doing today? I had a nice, relaxing day off from work, and guess what, I decided to spend the afternoon in my favorite store!!! I haven't been over to Anthropologie for a few weeks (GASP!), but there were several items that I wanted to try on.

First off, we have the Tracy Reese Speckled Ink Dress ($158).

This dress would be perfect if it were a couple of inches longer, but I still really liked it! I tried this on in three different sizes, as Tracy Reese runs REALLY small, and found that the Small worked the best on my figure. It's a darker blue ink pattern than displayed in the catalog, but it's still beautiful, interesting, and I definitely think I need this for my spring/summer wardrobe...what do you think? (Please ignore the boots and think of this paired with some strappy, sexy summer sandals.)

Next up was the Moulinette Soeurs Longing-For-Yellow dress ($158)

I had high hopes for this dress after seeing it in the catalog and it did not disappoint. I pulled a size 0 and 2 and found that the 0 worked perfectly, since it's not a form-fitting dress on the bottom.

While it may scream "Stepford Wives" to some, everything about this dress is so light and airy and feminine...from the lovely lemon yellow color to the sweet embroidered pattern and A-line style. I would definitely recommend having a tailor remove the crinoline underneath, however. It bunches up in weird places and the dress doesn't fall properly, in my opinion. Definitely added to my wishlist.

On to a lovely trenchcoat by Idra, the Double Ruffle Trench ($168)

I didn't notice this online earlier, but the navy color and little ruffles down the front of the coat really caught my eye on the hanger. Not crazy about the 3/4 sleeves, though...why is it that so many coats have these short sleeves nowadays??? Not practical and ruins the line of the design for me, but I digress. I tried this on in size 0 and found it to fit very well, but I would wait for this one to go on the sale rack before purchasing.

Then I tried on this sunny cotton frock, Floreat's Solar Star Blouse ($98)

I almost passed up trying this on, but I'm so glad I didn't, because it looks much better on the body than it did on the table. The color is much more vibrant than these photos portray. I grabbed my usual size 0 and it fit really well in the shoulders and bust, while gently fanning away from the body at the waist. I did find the fabric to be a bit sheer, though, so more modest girls may want to throw a cami on underneath this. I can't really justify spending $100 on a cotton shirt, but it's going on my Wishlist.

Lime Juice Dress by Girls From Savoy ($138)

Readers, I truly had such high hopes for this dress, but it didn't work out for me! Everything was off about this, from the color, to the fit, to the ruffles at the neckline. In theory, I love the color green, but this particular shade did nothing for my skin tone. I felt a bit sickly with this on, as my complexion looked completely washed out. The other issue was the way it hung on me. Granted, I had to size up to a 2 because the 0's were gone, but this puckered at the waistline when I tied it and seemed so loose and baggy. I'm afraid that sizing down wouldn't have been much better, as it was already quite snug in the chest/shoulders.

Also, I'm only 5'4.5" (Yes, I have to throw that extra half inch in there, hahaha!), so the length was off on me, as well. Didn't like this enough to order a zero and alter, but I'm sure this would look lovely on someone slightly taller with a darker skin tone/hair color.

Moulinette Soeurs Dress (Blue Motif, not found on the website, $148)

Last, but not least, this lovely "mystery dress" by Moulinette Souers. Maybe I've overlooked this little gem, because I do not recall seeing this on the website, but this little darling was screaming to me from the hanger today. I love wrap dresses, and the color is absolutely gorgeous. It's such a perfect, feminine dress for those warm summer evenings. I tried this on in a 0 and 2, but found that the 0 fit better at the bust/waist.

If anyone knows the name of this dress, please let me know!

Latest Anthropologie Wish List

Anthropologie is KILLING me with all of their pretty little offerings of late! I'm swooning over so many items...these, in particular, MUST make it into my closet!

Vanilla Bean Blouse (Style #010013)

This Yoana Baraschi blouse is just so cute and feminine. I love the polka dots and the flirty little ruffle at the neckline. This would look great with a skirt or a pair of skinny jeans/boots.

Speckled Ink Dress (Style #030000)

Tracy Reese's latest offering doesn't fail to deliver. Although early reviews indicate that this dress falls much shorter than advertised, the beautiful neckline and brush-stroked ink pattern sets this apart from the usual springtime dress. Definitely trying this on in the store tomorrow!

Recital Cardigan (Style #010013)

This gorgeous, cream-colored wrap sweater by Guinevere is just so lovely with its layers of ruffles and cinched waist tie. I could see pairing this with so many items in my closet for an effortless transition into springtime. Also comes in purple, but white is the only shade listed on the website (and it appears more cream in person).

Lime Juice Dress (Style #033002)

This luxurious silk dress by Girls From Savoy is just so pretty! From the ruffles at the neckline to the citrus color, it has all the ingredients of a perfect, feminine springtime dress. Runs a bit long on petite gals, but nothing that a quick trip to the tailor can't fix! Can be worn with the sash, as shown above, or paired with a wide brown belt for an edgier contrast.

Ladies, if you like this one, you'd better act quickly, as it's already flying out of stores and selling out in tiny sizes online.

Amazing new store that I found...

Hey all, I wanted to share with you a link to this amazing online store called eShakti that I came across recently! You can check it out here.

This store has some really beautiful, reasonably-priced pieces and many of the items remind me of the style of clothing sold at stores like Anthropologie. Sort of vintage-style with a modern twist.

The best thing, though, is that in addition to standard sizes, you can have anything you buy custom-made specifically to your measurements for a small additional fee. What could be better than that? It's like having your own personal tailor!

Check out these pretty little numbers...
