Quick Post: Blog Sale!

Hey guys, just dropping in for a brief post tonight. Have to be up super early tomorrow, but I am putting this beautiful little ModCloth dress up for sale. It's a size medium and I've decided that I really need the small, but before I return the larger size, I thought I'd give my readers a chance to get it before it's gone.;) It's truly an adorable little dress, but it's a bit too big in the bust/waist for my taste. (I made the mistake of taking the advice of reviewers instead of going with my usual size small.)

Selling for $50 shipped. Any takers? Please email me at chrissieb@att.net if you're interested!

Have a wonderful night!

Topsy-Turvy

Hi ladies, hope you're enjoying a terrific weekend! I've been a bit under the weather, so it's been a low key weekend for me. It's all good, though, sometimes we need a few days to just relax and recharge. I'm definitely on the mend!

I've been spending some time over on Anthropologie's website, and I'm head over heels in love with so many of their tops and sweaters. Honestly, girls, if this is just a taste of the new pre-fall items, I am going to be bankrupt by September!!! Have to be good, have to stay on budget...

That being said, here are some noteworthy new items that I just adore.

I'll kick things off with this cute little cotton number by Deletta, the Trickle Down Top. It comes in 4 lovely colors, but my favorite is the shade that they call "lilac." Now, in my opinion, this is NOT lilac at all. In fact, it's more of a plum or berry shade to me, but regardless, it's super cute. I love the chiffon ruffle detail adorning the front of this, and the fabric appears to be a bit more substantial than some of the sheer t-shirts that I've tried on at Anthropologie recently.

Another Deletta top that's also on my radar is the beautiful Popham Beach Top. It comes in lovely shades of ivory and dark orange, but my preference is the orange version since my mind is already looking ahead towards the fall. I just love the ruffles and gorgeous clusters of chiffon seashells that adorn the neckline. Definitely a dressy, contemporary spin on your basic cotton t-shirt.

Moving on to sweaters, Guinevere's Curlytop Cardigan is back in the most gorgeous shade of sky blue! Honestly, readers, I nearly bought the grey version when it first came out, but since it was already near the end of winter, I felt I couldn't justify spending the money at the time. Well, now that they've introduced this lovely new shade, it will definitely be coming home with me in the near future.

I just love the little details of this sweater...the pointelle knit, the corkscrew ruffles, the way it nips in at the waist, creating such a perfect hourglass shape...it has to be mine!

Last up is Sleeping on Snow's beautiful Flower to Flower Vest. This piece is so striking! I love the chunky sweaterknit fabric, the drapey neckline, and the rose appliques that adorn the shoulders. This would be just beautiful over a dress on those cool, early fall evenings out on the town.

What I DON'T love is the $168 price tag, so this one needs to hit the sales rack before I can bring it home with me.

Well, that's all I've got for now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Swooning over here...

Hey readers, hope you breezed through your Thursday! One more day and then the weekend is upon us once again. YAY!:)

Wow, I am just beside myself with joy over the new Anthropologie offerings that appeared online today! The pieces are so amazingly gorgeous and beautiful! I feel like I'm seeing more "old school" Anthro items lately. I really fell in love with their clothing between 2005-2006 and feel that some of the latest looks harken back to that time period.

Anyway, I am simply swooning over these 2 dresses, in particular...

Manor Gates Dress by Floreat

How pretty is this little dress? Featuring lush florals, amazing shades of blue, a beautifully embellished neckline, and the most gorgeous embroidered waistband...I absolutely MUST own this piece! It has completely knocked the Nathalie Lete dresses off my radar forever (since I AM trying to stick to a budget, after all).

Violet Gloaming Dress by Moulinette Soeurs

Another breathtaking beauty by one of my favorite Anthro designers, this dress features vivid hues of purple and pink and the most amazing landscape. The ruffled sleeves are a sweet touch, as well. This one is super pricey at $268, but somehow I will bring this one home. I really will!

What new items are you guys head over heels in love with??

Decisions, Decisions!!!!

Hey everyone, hope your day is going well. It's a scorcher here in NYC, but since I'm locked away in a corporate tower for work, I suppose that's okay!!

Well, readers, I really need your help. You see, I've been doing a LOT of thinking lately, and I really need to put myself on a stricter budget. I've always been a "Shopaholic," but since starting this fashion blog, which I LOVE, I've found myself getting swept up in the frenzy of buy-buy-buy and my bank account is really suffering.

Never fear, though, I have a plan, and I think it's pretty realistic for my lifestyle. I've decided to allot a certain portion of my salary each month to shopping, but I really need to stick to that number and not continue to spend foolishly. I am not putting myself on a total shopping ban. I've tried that, and it never works for me. As long as I remain employed, I plan to "treat" myself to something nice each month. Maybe this means skipping more Anthro sales, or shopping more on Ebay or ModCloth or other, more reasonably priced sites...who knows?? Or I may just end up with one great new Anthro item each month...it all depends on what I like in a particular month.

That being said, I'm coming to terms with this leaner, meaner budget, but I have a dilemma...I am in LOVE with 2 Nathalie Lete for Anthropologie dresses, and I need your help in deciding which to purchase. Neither is available in my store yet, so I may just order online. Remember, I can only select ONE (Sob!) due to the new and improved June budget...can you help me decide which to pick?:)

Greensleeves

Hi readers, how are you? Sorry I've been MIA these past few days. I have some company in town and I'm running all over, showing off the sites and sounds of beautiful New York City!!!!

Of course, a little sightseeing/tour guide activity doesn't put a stop to my shopping. I haven't been overly blown away by the June Anthropologie offerings, so I've been looking around the web at different sites, scoping out the fashion finds. ModCloth is really cranking out some cuties lately!!!! I picked up this adorable dress that FINALLY came back in stock, PLUS this gorgeous green top that they just added to their site last night.

Friday Fashion Finds

Hey, readers, happy, happy Friday!!! I am so excited that the weekend is finally upon us. Anyone have any good plans? Shopping? BBQs? Maybe a little beach time?

I think I'm going to head out to the shore myself. There's nothing I like better than being near the ocean. The gentle breezes, rolling waves, and the feeling of sand between my toes...I'm getting super relaxed just envisioning it.

Well, guys, I did some shopping from the cube farm this morning. Yes, I occasionally get a little downtime at work, so I always scour the web for cute clothes. I came across this lovely new top from ModCloth and decided to snap it up right away!

I think it's gorgeous! The lovely, deep shade of violet/blue is nicely offset by the delicate ivory embroidery around the collar. Plus, look at those ruffled sleeves! Swoon! An ivory bow cinches the waist to create the perfect fit. LOVE THIS and can't wait for it to arrive!

Will You Be My Shine Top

Next, I came across an amazing Ebay find, this ivory floral cutout embroidery skirt by Hazel for Anthropologie. I can't say that I remember this one at all (Anyone know what year Anthro sold this???), but how perfect would this be with the new top featured above? You know I had to buy it, as well...

Well, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

New Wishes and Dreams

Hey guys, how's it going? Hope you're all having a lovely week thus far.

Wow, Anthropologie continues to churn out the pretties this season, don't they? Lookie here at this ADORABLE new Floreat Secret Garden Blouse. I am so in love with this! The embroidery is just gorgeous!

This one shot up very high on my Wish List. I just hope that it fits me well, as I am sometimes sized out of Anthro blouses.

Another super pretty item that caught my eye is this feminine little number by Robin, the Baby's Breath Dress. This one hasn't gotten much love in the blog world, but I think it's beautiful! I love the pattern and it's a very unusual shade of green. The only thing that gives me pause is the elastic waistband. This could be good or terrible, so I'll definitely need to try this one on before bringing it home.

Finally, another lovely blogger brought to my attention the fact that Lil's Caballo Falls Dress is now back in a brilliant navy blue shade. I loved the original turquoise version, but I like this one even better! Reminds me of Van Gogh's "Starry Night" painting for some reason.:)

Help, my wallet can't take it anymore! All this temptation...:)

New Purchases

Hi, my lovely readers! Hope you all had a great day. We're slowly inching our way through the work week. We can make it, I know we can!;)

Just wanted to share 2 new purchases that I made today. Of course, both items are Anthropologie pieces!!!!!

First is Bordeaux's Buds & Bunches Tee in the Sky color. I've been lusting after this for ages now, but couldn't justify the full $58 price for a tee, no matter how cute. Then, it went on sale, and I still didn't buy it...but after seeing it on so many bloggers, I just had to take the plunge today. It really is a beautiful little top for summer. What a gorgeous color and the details are amazing. Definitely a feminine little twist on a basic summer tank top.

My other purchase is this gorgeous Lingering Rays Skirt by Yoana Baraschi. I honestly didn't think much of it based on the website photo, but then the beautiful Tien from Adiaphane wore this recently, and I began to understand the possibilities...it's lovely!! I normally stick to longer skirts, since my workplace is pretty conservative, but I just had to grab this for after-hours and weekend fun. Not sure what top to pair it with, but I'm sure I'll have fun styling this piece.

How about you guys, did anyone buy anything cute today?

Birds of Paradise

Hey everyone, hope you had a great start to your week! I, for one, already cannot wait for the weekend to arrive! Come back, lovely days off!

I had a serious case of the Monday Blues this morning, but my mood immediately brightened when I surfed on over to Anthropologie's website and saw 2 new Nathalie Lete dresses featured. If you've read my earlier posts, you'll know that I simply adore this lady's designs. I'm so glad she decided to branch out into clothing and create these beautiful, limited-edition pieces for Summer 2010. I hope that she'll collaborate with Anthro on some Fall looks, as well.

Anyhow, this stunning little number really caught my eye. It's called the Pigment & Canvas Dress and it's a visual masterpiece! Simply a breathtaking work of art. Look at those gorgeous birds! Now, I normally shy away from garments featuring images of animals, but this one is so unique, I may have to cave and purchase it. (Readers, I LOVE animals so very much, just not usually on my clothing.;))

What do you girls think? It's super pricey at $248. Do you like it? Is it too whimiscal? Should I give it a whirl?

New Fitting Room Reviews

Hello ladies, how are you? Everyone enjoying their weekend so far? Just finished up a fabulous dinner at my fave Mexican restaurant, and now the boyfriend and I are going to kick back and watch a movie. Pretty low key evening, just what I need after a hectic week at work.

I managed to squeeze in a quick trip down to Anthropologie this afternoon, and boy, I did not regret it. You see, ladies, I've been stalking the Time Gone By Dress online and it wasn't appearing at my local store. Well, lo and behold, it finally showed up today and it's the first item I grabbed en route to the fitting room. Hell, I spotted that baby halfway across the sales floor and practically sprinted over to scout out my size. Sure enough, a zero was hanging gracefully and my grabby little hands scooped it up right away. I picked up a few more newish items and was on my way to the fitting room.

Girls, I cannot even tell you how much I LOVE the Time Gone By Dress! Seriously, it's gotten such mixed reviews, so I didn't know how I would feel. Admittedly, it might not be the most vibrant color against my creamy white complexion, but this dress is simply gorgeous! Unlike many other bloggers, I actually DO see that it has a slight peach undertone. It's not a cream or ivory to me, but rather a mixture of the shades. Anyone wearing this dress would benefit from a liberal use of self-tanner, but it is so damn flattering!

First up, the details...the ruffle sleeves fall perfectly around the upper arms, and I just adore the hemline with the black trim. As others have noted, this really has a Chanel-esque vibe to it. The size 0 was perfect. I honestly felt that the dress was cut for my body, which is not always the case with Anthro dresses. My narrow frame can get lost in the extra pouf and exaggerated A-line designs at times.

I cannot wait to get paid, because I'm snapping this one up immediately! I'm already picturing the perfect shoes, handbag, and of course, the most gorgeous vintage necklace to accessorize this with.

Next item up is the Vagabond Dress. I've been eyeing this one for weeks, as it's looked good on nearly every blogger who's reviewed it so far. I tried the XS blue version and I adore this one, as well.

It's a very nice, swingy, somewhat thick material, and the ocean blue color is just stunning. I love the way the fabric drapes and folds throughout the bodice, and it's the perfect dress to wear from the office to drinks with the girls. Definitely Wish Listed for me.

While whizzing around the store, I also came across a new Deletta t-shirt that I don't see online yet. It's gorgeous, featuring a soft, mint green color and cascading ruffles down the front. It would work well by itself or as a layering piece. The only downside is the sheer material. Seriously, I don't get it, why make a top that's transparent? Limits where you can wear it, not to mention most folks don't feel comfortable displaying their bra to the world. You'd definitely need to throw a thin cami on underneath this.

P.S. Excuse the fact that I have the freakin' Vagabond dress rolled down as the "skirt" in this photo...note to self, always bring some sort of skirt into the fitting room when reviewing tops. Since I wore a dress to the store, I had no other option available. This is a PG blog, after all.;)

Last, I've been reading good reviews for the Hello Sunday Blazer, so I really hoped it would work out for me. I had dreamy images of Audrey Hepburn in a classic, tailored jacket floating through my mind when I put this on. The image staring back at me in the mirror was not Audrey, however, but something very different.

Honestly, I know that some of you adore this piece, but I felt ridiculous in it. I think I look like an escaped convict, a clown, or hell, the Cheshire Cat!!! Seriously, this is one loud jacket. On a positive note, the jacket is very well-constructed and had a very nice fit (I tried on the XS). It's a quality blazer, just not something that I would ever, ever wear in my daily life.

I'll leave off with a quick photo or 2 of my new Nordstrom Maggy London Dress. Such a fun piece to wear. The vibrant colors are perfect for a nice summer day.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Unusual Accessory

Hi everyone, Happy Friday!!! I couldn't be more thrilled that another long, exhausting work week has drawn to a close. Anyone have any fun weekend plans?

As usual, I'm unwinding by kicking back and surfing the web for more pretty, unique items! Which brings me right back to my favorite haunt, Anthropologie, only THIS time, I decided to be a little daring and check out the jewelry.;) I generally only buy dresses and the occasional top from Anthro, so I feel as though I'm branching out a little bit here.:)

Anyhow, I came across this BEAUTIFUL creation called the After the Revolution Necklace. It comes in three lovely shades, but I'm drawn to the pale blue version the most.

I think this piece is just lovely. I can see this adding some visual interest to even the most casual summertime ensemble. It's made of wood, beads, and lace, so it definitely has an artsy vibe. Those of you who prefer plain gold and silver necklaces may be a little put off, but I always tend to go for things that are a little (or a LOT) different than the usual. I hope my local store has this one in stock so I can check it out in person!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Check back soon for some new fitting room reviews, as I plan to hit up the Rockefeller Anthro tomorrow, time permitting.

Flight 'Round The Garden Skirt

Hey, lovely readers, hope you're all doing great on this beautiful Thursday evening! I'm so exhausted tonight, so I don't have much energy to do a long post, but WOW, yet another new arrival at Anthropologie has crept its way onto the top of my Wish List!

How gorgeous is this little skirt? From the lush green flowers to the tiny colorful beads adorning the petals, this skirt is purely summertime perfection!!! Designed by the very talented Nathalie Lete, this is a fresh new piece in her expanding summertime collection currently being sold at Anthro.

Flight 'Round The Garden Skirt

I'm really loving all of the clothing from Nathalie Lete. Her designs are statement pieces for every wardrobe and truly works of art.

Are you ladies loving this one as much as I am? Do tell!

Hello Gorgeous!

Hi everyone, hope your week is going well. It is SUCH a dreary day here in the Big Apple. It's rainy and cold and it feels like early April again.

I can always count on Anthropologie to brighten my mood and lift my spirits, though! Wow, so many pretty new arrivals! If I had an unlimited cash flow, I'd take the entire store home with me, but alas, I do not, so I'm trying to be selective as I salivate over the following items:

Nathalie Lete's Stemmed Sweetbriar Dress

Oh, readers, how I love and adore this one! The color is simply breathtaking and I love the bold black roses adorning the fabric. Truly a work of art.

This next dress is a new favorite of a lot of bloggers, Deletta's Tea and Sweets Dress.

This dress is so gorgeous! Pleats and eyelets and floral appliques...I'm in love! I'd better hurry up and get a tan so my lily white skin doesn't blend into the neutral tones of the fabric, but this is definitely going on my Wish List.

What are your new favorites?

Glorious Green Dress

Hey everyone, hope you survived Monday in one piece. It's always so tough for me to get back in the swing of things after a couple of days off from work. Sigh. I really need to hit that lotto soon!:)

I thought I'd share another recent purchase with all of you. As you know, I'm obsessed with my Anthropologie items, but every now and then, I branch out and spring for something from another store. This little Maggy London dress is from Nordstrom, and I just love it!

First of all, look at those amazing green shades! Talk about vibrant and eye-catching. Those of you who have read this blog for awhile will know that blue and green are my favorite colors in the universe. I feel like a walking Pantone color wheel sometimes. I've never been one to gravitate towards classic shades of black and white or understated neutrals. That's just me, I'm a little out there, lol.:)

The quality of the garment is really topnotch. The fabric, although a bit heavy for summer, drapes beautifully along the lines of the body, and since I ordered the 2 petite, it falls just above my knees at a perfect length.

Although I won't be breaking this one out on 90 degree days, this dress will be a beautiful addition to my wardrobe.

I'll be back soon to discuss more fantastic fashion!

Pretty New Dress

Hey guys, how are you? Hope you're having a lovely weekend so far! I just came back from my local Anthropologie store. I went there to scope out the new arrivals, but most of the items that I'm lusting after haven't hit the shelves yet.

However, all was not lost. I decided to return the ill-fitting Dreaming in Green Skirt and exchanged it for the lovely Shifting Feathers Dress by C. Keer. I've been considering it for quite some time now, but today presented the perfect opportunity to make the purchase.

I really, really like this dress! The color is absolutely gorgeous, a delicious grayish-blue shade that pops against the white in the pattern. The material drapes and flows and is super comfortable. At $98, I highly recommend that you ladies get this one before it's gone (if it fits you well, that is)!!!!

Hope you guys have a fun Saturday evening. Anyone bring home any goodies today???

Gorgeous New Blouse at Anthro

Hey everyone, it's finally Friday! Yipee! Even though I had a "short" week with the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, I still feel like this week has been eternal. So hard to come into work when it's sunny and warm outside. I really just want to pack up and head to the beach.

Anyway, to dull the pain of being in the cube farm, I headed over to Anthropologie's site this morning and look what I found, this darling, darling little top by Floreat!
Wow, this is so gorgeous! I love the soft sky blue shade and all those gorgeous eyelets! The detail on this top is simply breathtaking. Can't wait to pick this one up.

Blog Sale: Dreaming in Green Skirt Size 4

UPDATE: NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting this week, but I've been crazy-busy every night after work. I can't wait for the weekend, I'll tell ya!:)

Well, I got my Anthropologie Dreaming in Green skirt shipped to me and I don't know, I'm just not feeling the fit the way I was hoping I would! I found it too loose in the waist and uncomfortably tight in the booty. I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing this baby to work. Too sexy for my conservative office, that's for sure!

That being said, I'm hoping to sell this pretty skirt to one of you lovely readers! I'm asking $80 shipped, which is the sale price that I paid. It's a size 4 and has never been worn outside of my apartment.

Any takers? Please email me at chrissieb@att.net if you're interested!!!!
